Most people’s first questions regarding strength and conditioning are ‘What does that involve? How can I train for that?’ and ‘How can it help me?’
Strength and Conditioning, or S and C, is the application of different training methods in order to increase an individual’s sport-specific performance.
Here at The MMA Academy we cater for those who want to fight in MMA, BJJ or Muay Thai as well as for those who just want to get fitter and healthier. S & C circuits focus on training methods which incorporate strength, speed & agility, functional mobility, and power, in order to help you reach your goals… So if you want to get leaner, stronger and fitter then you’ve come to the right place!!
Whether you want to fight professionally or just get fitter and feel better then we will help to point you in the right direction to achieve them. Our UKSCA accredited coach, Pete Angell, has experience of working with professional fighters here at the MMA Academy, as well as scholar athletes from a wide range of sports based at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). Pete has a solid scientific background in sports performance through completing a degree in Sport and Exercise Sciences at LJMU, and his current PhD programme is a continuation of supporting the training methods he believes in. With a strong drive to help people realise their goals, Pete will only ask you to do what he thinks you are capable of and aims to get you working as hard as you’re willing to push yourself. So if you want to improve your physical performance and well being, then let us help guide you to your goals.
